At least it isn't 1st April - otherwise it could easily have been a joke!
Whilst I don't enjoy queuing at the Post Office, I am British and am resigned to this fate thrice weekly, off set but a bit of friendly banter with the Post Mistress.
Most of our self-applied vinyl lettering goes in small boxes, costing £2.70 postage 1st class.
But that was 'oh so yesterday'! Today, the same parcel, 1st class, costs £5.65. Yes, £5.65 - mathematicians please help me, but it is almost double. Amazing!
Then our courier turned up to collect a banner. They are too heavy for Royal Mail so we have a collection twice a week. Makes good business sense, UK Mail have lowered their weight minimum to take advantage of Royal Mail putting their prices up. Our small vinyl lettering boxes can travel 'next day' for £5.71. Just 6p more - and no travelling, no queuing, and probably a better chance of getting there.
Bit of a no-brainer really. But another nail in the Royal Mail coffin. Sadly.
